Meeting held Thursday 6th October 2011
Suggested theme: Cube
The group held its meeting on 6th October. This month’s subject was the ’cube’.
Stephanie’s poem, ‘Ice Py’ was rather risqué, but great fun as she took us through the game of ‘pass the ice cube’.
Jean’s poem, ‘Cube Collusion’ focused on explaining to her daughter why a cube is called a cube, luckily she escaped having to answer, “But what is a cube root? Does it have one when it grows?” She’ll get you next time Jean!
Elizabeth told us about a room she had stayed in, something rather representing a ‘cube’ and evidently this one came with mixed genders and bunk beds!
Mike’s story, ‘The Letter’ had a sweet and flowery start, a squared middle and love and kisses at the end—a very clever play on words!
Sue’s poem, ‘A Cube’ explained that a cube can be plain or decorative and she also gave a warning not to eat Cube, an American plant used in insecticides and fish poisons.
Next meeting: Thursday 3rd November, 7.30pm at The Plough,
Subject, ‘The Kitchen Sink’.
