Meeting held 4th March 2010
Suggested theme: The Murder of a Steiff Bear
At the well attended March meeting, we welcomed back a couple of former members. The optional subject was “The Introduction of the Murder of a Steiff Bear”. Well all I can say is that I had no idea what murderous, bloodthirsty and innovative lot of people lived locally! Just to make you aware and to give you a “taster” here are a few of the ways certain people (obviously no names can be mentioned!) would go about it.
First there was “Bare Witness”. The murder was going to be the result of jealousy and revenge. Poor old bear. It wasn’t his fault that a certain lady had shown and displayed too much love to him in the bedroom! In “Bearskin” a Steiff was going to be skinned so a certain someone could have a bearksin to wear on his head! Another was actually murdered (yes, murdered) by a Jack Russell. I think we’ll leave the description to mutiliation and guts everywhere! Another was having the stuffing knocked out of him in a shop called “Antiques to Die For” with the help of something slithery sliding around. Mass murder was carried out in “Cut and Thrust – the bare essentials” by South American terrorists. The result being Steiff Bears with their ear label severed and their stomach stabbed. Next came a really gruesome tale of a much loved Bear. Again, jealousy and spite, or maybe a childish prank, (although I don’t think so!). The owner of this adored Bear was taken to a tree and tightly tied to the trunk and made to watch as the Bear was executed in front of her!
That is just a few of the ways depicted. If certain people have murder in mind like that I think everyone should be afraid, very afraid.
We then went on to discuss other matters pertaining to the Group resulting in a rather lively meeting!
